Mosaics in ceramic tile

Every mosaic piece we create is an original design & made as a one off. This means when you commission or purchase a piece, it's created just for you. Our sole aim is to create a piece of mosaic art for you that suits both it's surroundings & your individual taste or inspiration.

We work almost always in ceramic tile - we love the different colour variations, their durability, and the ability to make our own tiles (which we do a lot). They are also suitable for carving, which enables us to produce very accurate shapes and lettering. We do however, have the capability in the studio to use a much wider range of tesserea, which we'll probably explore in the future.

Our approach is to use the highest quality materials and tile fixing systems available on each and every piece. Every work we create is safe for use inside or externally in a sheltered position. Our standard is to create works on exterior plywood covered in a waterproof membrane.

Fully weatherproof pieces are made to order on compressed fibre cement or for direct installation. In freezing conditions, special consideration needs to be given to the tesserea used - some ceramic tiles won't cope with water and freezing. Please check with us if you're intending to use the piece outside.

Of course larger installations need to be considered on a case by case basis, considering the siting, installation method, and shipping details.

All ironwork we use in our creations is individually commissioned to a blacksmith, and is always rust protected by galvanising or powdercoating. There can be time delays when ironwork is involved as we're dealing with another artist who'll have their own waiting periods to contend with.

Our guarantee policy is very simple - Your mosaic is made to last a lifetime. If there are any problems caused by our workmanship or materials, we'll fix them.

Mosaics are a wonderfully versatile art form, and because of their durability, can be used in many situations. You'll never need to repaint or maintain your work, other than simple cleaning. Some examples of mosaic uses are:-
