Mandalas have been part of human creative and spiritual expression for centuries — symbolic, circular, and often deeply meditative to create. Like many mosaic artists, I was drawn to mandalas early in my journey, and they remain a satisfying form to return to when I want to centre myself in rhythm, repetition, and design.
These mosaic mandalas range from structured and geometric to more organic and intuitive. Some were made as personal reflections, others just for the joy of pattern and colour. There’s something grounding about the process — working outward from the centre, one piece at a time — that makes mosaic the perfect medium for mandala art.
This gallery includes a selection of mandala-inspired works I’ve created over the years. If you’re a mosaic beginner, mandalas are a great way to explore circular mosaic design — or even to use the process as a creative meditation. I hope these pieces spark an idea of your own.
