Artist comment: “Platypus Park” is a creek revegetation & park project run jointly by State & Local government in Caboolture Qld. Inspiration for the design came from spending some time around the creek, and visualising the animals and plants I may have seen when the area was in it’s wilderness state. I also saw a Galah, Blue Tongue & King parrot whilst I was there. Project consists of two main installations into concrete recesses, and a further 6 small installations (shown below) into sandstone rocks (recesses carved myself). Many thanks to Annie Hartland who assisted on the project.
